My dad has always been my biggest supporter so when he suggested I open my own design shop a few years back I really took it to heart. I had never thought of doing something so extreme but I was also sick of working for “the man” and a change had to be made. I bought an old warehouse on the south side of town and converted it into a space I would use for my office. I’ve got a steady stream of clients and they just keep referring me to new ones so I guess I’m doing something right! I love being my own boss and making my own business decisions so if anyone else out there is feeling a longing to go solo my advice is not to wait another day. Do it now before you get stuck in the cycle of monotony at your current job or another one like it!
