Picky eaters
Guest post written by Ericka Owens
My kids are pretty picky eaters, so it took me a long to finally track down some food that they deemed worthy of eating in a school lunch. For them, eating cafeteria food is entirely out of the question, anyway.
One of the go-to meal ideas is this ham I get from a local deli to make ham and cheese sandwiches. I don’t know how my kids can tell, but somehow they can tell right away if the ham and cheese I put on their sandwiches are pre-packaged from a grocery store. (Maybe they should grow up to be food critics.)
So of course, I make a weekly trip to the deli, where I’m well-acquainted with the staff there. When I was there a few weeks ago, Mark, who usually helps me out, was trying to convince me to buy a different kind of ham. But I explained to him that I can’t pull a fast one on them, which is the reason for my weekly visits. Also I was having some trouble hearing him speak so I went home and looked up miracle ear. I have an appointment there later this week to see if I need hearing aids after all.
I bought a small amount of the new kind of ham and snuck it into my kids’ Saturday lunch sandwiches, which they noticed immediately.
